Harder Beat Review -
2/2009
Dallas in Chains - Skillman Street Pub, 2/10/09
Dallas in Chains put on an entertaining,
high energy, theatrical performance this night. Tony
Trevino’s flamboyant style drew the crowd in
immediately with “Bleed the Freak.” As evident from
the name, the band is an Alice in Chains tribute,
boosting an impressive repertoire of 40+ AiC songs,
10 of which they performed this night. Among the
hits played were “Down in a Hole,” “Killer is Me,”
“Man in the Box” and “Rooster,” ending with “Them
Bones.” Other members are Chad Barker (backup
vocals), Steve “Sookie” Coffaro (bass), Russ Hines
(guitar) and Sean Doyle (drums). Dallas in Chains is
a polished, professional act that makes for a great
night out. ~ Jill Jackson, Harder

We have
received confirmation on a FireWater date, once
again.

Chains at FireWater, check us out. Come out
early and have dinner and watch the bands. We
will be second of three. We always have a
great time playing there and are hoping for warm
enough weather to play outside. If not, we'll
do a great show on the inside. Come out and
play with us and kick off your weekend with a great,
big head-bang!!
Making Up Is Great To
Do! - 8/2/2008
What a
time. What a time! The band's makeup
show at Skillman Street Pub went as planned.
It's our new favorite place to play. BANDS,
LISTEN UP: You need to get booked there!
Incredible sound, great sound-man (James), great
staff, and overall great experience. Those
that came to see us had a blast. There was a
brief interruption two songs in when the sound board
blew out. James worked fast and furiously, to
completely replace the board and we were up and
running in no time. As planned, an Alice in
Chains tribute was played, followed by the music of
Filter, STP, The Cult, Velvet Revolver, David Bowie,
and more. We highly recommend you check out
Skillman Street Pub whether a band or a live-music
lover!
Makeup Show Set at
Skillman Street Bar - 8/1/2008
Confirmed - Skillman Street Bar on Friday, August
22nd. Plans are set for a 90 minute show to
makeup for the cancelled show in May. A
special show is planned in that it will be a
combination of Dallas in Chains and The Donkey
Show. The great music of Alice in Chains
followed by Velvet Revolver, Filter, The Cult, STP,
and more!
Granada Show a
Success - 7/28/2008
"Visually stunning!" claimed an audience member
after the show. Based on audience and band
response, to say the least, the band is very happy
with how the show went. Photos to come.
Tony T. Singing Again
- 7/8/2008
After a
series of doctor visits with most of them telling
Tony that there's nothing wrong, THE ONE was found:
Dr. Wayne Kirkham, M.D. at Medical City. He works
with The Dallas Opera and was able to look at Tony
specifically as a singer. He determined that
one side of his throat resembled "ground hamburger
meat." A 6-day steroid pack, an inhaler, Flonase, and being VERY quiet at all times, on the
4th day it was easy to tell that it was working.
A visit
a week later and it was like night and day.
Dr. Kirkham said that the cords looked "beautiful"
and Tony felt like singing again. He only
cautioned that he start very slow and build up to
singing at full power.
Advice
from the doctor, "If it comes up that you need to
sing and your band is asking you to sing when you
feel there's a problem, tell them either you stop
now or stop for a year."
Dr.
Kirkham is an expert on care of the professional
voice and treats radio and television personalities,
opera and theater stars, politicians, public
speakers and musicians including: Prince, Mick Jagger,
Ozzy Osbourne, Don Henley, Joe Cocker, Bono, Bette
Midler, Stevie Nicks, The Dallas Opera, Bruce
Springsteen, and many more.
Introducing Chad
Barker - Backup Singer - 6/28/2008
Dallas
in Chains is proud to announce the addition of a
backup singer to the band. Chad Barker comes
to us first as a vocal coach to Tony and has agreed
to be with us for the show at The Granada Theater
(we have high hopes to keep him beyond that).
He teaches voice and guitar, plays, and can sing
lead as well as backup. We are fortunate to
add this multi-talented performer into our group!
DiC to Play The
Granada Theater - 6/15/2008
Confirmed date to play The Granada Theater with 4
other bands. DiC will be the last band to play
and plan on blowing the roof off of the theater.
A private party, but those most interested can pay
$25, which includes food, drink, and much
entertainment! Contact us to find out how to
be a part.
Show Cancelled Due to
Vocal Issues - 5/30/2008
In great
disappointment, the band had to cancel the 5/31 date
for Skillman Street Bar. Tony is completely
unable to sing. He has scheduled a series of
visits with doctors to see what can be done.
Can this be the end?
